Default I finally got a RECEIVER and SUBWOOFER!

Hey everyone, I've been waiting to get into the HD Audio craze and I have finally reached that point. I just ordered an Onkyo TX-SR606 from Amazon, along with the Boston Acoustics HPS-10HO 250 Watt RMS Subwoofer. Does anyone know how this will sound?

Right now all I have is a 1996 Bose 5.1 Sound System that can't even do DTS or Dolby Digital since back then they had a "custom decoder" which was "superior" (They were just too cheap to pay for the rights back then to utilize DTS). Anyways with my new setup, I'll still be keeping the cube speakers since they still sound good, I will probably replace the center channel soon with a large center channel, but until then it's the 5 Bose Speakers. And I'm so happy to get rid of that BOSE "subwoofer". It seriously sounds so horrible.

not bashing bose (though i usually would) but since you're buying some new equipment why not audition some other speakers? it couldnt hurt and even if its not in the budget to replace them all right now, atleast you can get a feel for whats out there (starting with your center like you said)

Congrats OP!! You just got what I need. (LOL) I just picked up a 5 speaker set-up from BB. Now I need the receiver, sub, & another pair of the Sony SS-B1000's to complete my 7.1 home theater. In which I will be getting the Pioneer VSX-1018AH-K and a Klipsch Sub-10. Enjoy, Iam not far behind you.

For anyone who cares, I hooked them both up today (606 & Sub) and it sounds 10x better than the stock BOSE system! Seriously I am so excited to receive I-Robot and Batman Begins from Amazon tomorrow. Live Free Or Die Hard and Mr. & Mrs. Smith sounds awesome
