I am looking at putting a tv in my kids room to run ps3 and 360. I already have one for the main room so nothing major. I was looking at a vizio 32in 720p...there is the option of plasma and LCD. Are these decent tvs. Will it last several years and does it have a good PQ? thanks

That depends what you mean by a good price. What's your budget?
One way of getting a top brand for the same price as a new Vizio or Viewsonic or something along those lines, is to look at display models. Places like Costco are infamous for marking down their product when only a few units remain. I picked up my Panasonic Plasma for several hundred bucks below the MSRP and it was brand new in the box. Plus you gotta love their warranty and return policy. And my buddy ended buying the display model of the same TV for another $200 less. If you have a Sam's Club near you, check them out as well. |

For that budget ($500-$600), you should be able to pick up a top brand LCD in a 32" for sure. Don't bother with the budget brands...you'll (actually your kids) will regret it.

Costco has a vizio for 599, and i have that same one for the same purpose you are looking into, and that tv is always on.. I have never had a problem with it. it is on so much that my samsung DVD player died. I have had it for over a year and it is good..
That said, there is a toshiba at costco for the same price, you could always go that route also. |

Dynex® - 26" 720p Widescreen Flat-Panel LCD HDTV
I have the 32" model in my bedroom. Me and the wife really like it. Also if your kids happen to destroy it, it doesn't cost very much. ![]() |

Being as it's going into the kids room, I'd reccomend going LCD. I own both LCD and plasma, and if it'll receive a high amount of wear and tear, definately go LCD.
I helped my folks purchase a 32" LCD around Christmas time, with their budget around $750. We ended up with a 32" 720p LG LCD. Is it the best box on the market? Probably not, but it perfectly suits their needs as a bedroom (2nd) TV. They love it and still thank me for helping them select it. Having said all of that, I know there are better options in your price range then Vizio, though if it's gonna get beat up and receive a fair amount of wear and tear, who cares? I doubt your kids will complain because you got them a budget friendly boob tube. Trust me, thy'll be happy with whatever you get, so long as they can play their PS3! |
