I wouldn't pay nearly that much, but that is a cool figure. Toys are so cool these days, my kids are going to have awesome toys.

I'm not into collecting action figures or anything, atleast not anymore.

But I think they might be hoping on some rich people out there spending their money on it due to the Heath Ledger sentiment.

agree on that. Wish I had the cool action figures get these days back when i was a child.
But no my days of buying action figures have come to an end... Cept maybe one of these days I tend to get custom made action figures of me and the woman i marry. Though Dunno why i wanna do that, I just do.

Nah, I'd rather have this one that I got for my birthday

http://www.dccomics.com/dcdirect/?dcd=9617

$130 is about double what they're going for on ebay.

$130 isn't much for a collectible these days.

I own three of these - The T-850, the T-800, and the Alien.

If I collected these and needed it, then yes I would. I think it looks small for the price. I kinda expected one of those awesome Japanese figures like they did for Iron Man or one of the McFarlane ones.

Yup! I'm one of'em:

I don't know about that Joker figure though. Seems kinda small for $130. I'm not into Batman figures, so who knows.

I collect (and sometimes make) custom action figures. I have paid at most $80 for a figure, but almost all of what I buy are one-of-a-kind custom sculpts, and the more expensive ones are resculpts. Less pricey ones are kit-bashes (head or other parts from one fig put on body of another, then repainted) or repaints.

My avatar is of a custom Iron Man figure as well. Not $130 though.

I don't think this is a $130 item. It is for now, but it will likely lose value. I remember when the 1995 "Monkeyface" Princess Leia figures were hot. I have some of those still MIP. Were worth about three times more at the time I found them than they are worth now.

Action figures that you can find on the shelves (i.e, not custom, not prototype, not factory defect) are generally valuable to flip right away. As time goes on, the value of them generally decline, as they are only "hot" to the general public for a while.

One exception that springs to mind was the Marvel Legends Stealth Iron Man. Was in their first wave of figures, a variant paintjob (blue like my avatar). However, no one thought the line would take off like it did, and no one bought a variant paintjob (I saw it in a shop for $25). Now, loose, it is $80.

You just have to buy the figures no one else is going to, and then have the figure get wildly popular. Like buying a Luke Skywalker early bird figure back in 1977 before the movie came out. No one really wanted to buy the figure, and the first movie was not even out yet. And that's why the figure is worth so much, even loose.

This Joker figure, while resembling Heath Ledger very well, will only be valuable to flip. Those who buy it for $130 will likely never be able to sell it again for that much, unless they sell it right away to another sucker.
