DISH will be 1080p and 150 channels of hd and VOD in Aug..take that DTV - Blu-ray Forum

Of course the quality will not be as good as BLU-RAY but it appears that both Direct TV and Dish Network will soon offer true 1080P movies. Hopefully Dish Network will offer new receivers that output 1080P/24 instead of just 1080P/60.

man i need to switch to satellite. right now i got digital cable but i only get like maybe 30 hd channels. the reason i got cable is cause i want faster internet than DSL and it's cheaper to bundle w/ digital cable. but man stuff like this is really making me think about switching!

I kept my basic cable and high speed internet with my local cable company and got Dish for all my HD content. I've also had DirectTv in the past. I prefer Dish network. They do have Sat internet service but it's way too expensive and not as fast right now.

Does Directv have a 1080P/24 receiver? I have the HR20 HD DVR 1080i/60.
