Default NEED ADVICE: 24 frames per second...is it worth it?

I've seen some Sony Blu Ray players advertised with the advantage of playing with a 24p (24 frames per second) "True Cinema" output.

I've watched some very good looking images in a Sony (1080 p) with a Sony Blu Ray player hooked up.

My questions:

Is it really worth it to upgrade my Blu Ray player to a new sony model because of that reason alone?

Am I going to tell the difference?

Is the difference noticeable in ANY High Definition TV, or only those that are full
1080p?

Thanks for your help and advice.

the TV has to be compatible with 24fps...if not, then it won't make any difference.

what TV do you have?

Oh yes, thank you. My TV is a Sony 40 S 3000, which IS NOT full 1080p. I'm thinking about upgrading it also to a full 1080p. But that is what I've been thinking: If I upgrade my TV, I may have to upgrade the BD player to a 24 p set in order to take advantage of the TV. But will it be really a BIG difference?

EVERY Sony player can output a 1080p/24p. signal. Even the oldest ones like the BDP-S1.
Therefore if ur player is Sony you won't need to upgrade ur BD player. What u need to upgrade is ur TV set as another poster have already told you.

cheers!

well the 20GB PS3 didnt do 24p....

other than that, I wouldn't upgrade just for 24p alone. But definitely one of the features to look out for if upgrading
