Default No signal from PS3 To Onkyo 605 Help !

I just purchased a Onkyo TX-SR605B from ECost . I hooked it up Via HDMI. I hooked up the HDMI cable to the PS3 To input one on the Onkyo and then hooked up the Onkyo to the tv from the HDMI out of the receiver. The settings are for the game/tv from HDMI 1 on the Onkyo. I can see the on screen display from the receiver when I go to the menu on the tv . So I assume that means I'm getting a signal from the Onkyo to the tv . When I turn on the ps3 I get nothing . I check the display on the Onkyo and it says no signal . I can then hook up the PS3 directly to the tv Via HDMI and have a perfect picture and sound . So I know there is a signal coming from the PS3 . The PS3 was previously hooked up to the tv before I got the Onkyo. The Tv Is a Hitachi 1080i so the PS3 when first hooked up to the tv set its self to 1080i output. Is there a setting on the PS3 that is wrong so that the Onkyo doesn't recognize it maybe . Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks but I do have it turned on . I think there is something wrong with the reciever. I double a triple check all the settings on the reciever and cant find anything wrong.

Also, as long as your receiver is set up to route the HDMI correctly as mentioned above, I'd try a system reset. I think you hold the power switch (keep your finger on the panel) for five or ten seconds and it beeps a second time or something. You will have to set your video and audio up as if it was the first time you turned it on (but all your saved stuff is still on the HD). Your ps3 was likely only set to output pcm 2.0 via HDMI to your TV. Good Luck!

It could be the receiver though. They aren't without lemons, though my brothers works well I've certainly read alot here about people that have random failures of the 605s.

I tried the Hd dvd player via HDMI and got a blue screen which is more than I got from the PS3. Could it have anything to do with my TV being 1080i ?

no, my tv is 1080i and get a fine pic with ps3 and hd dvd. since my tv doesnt display 720, all i have checked is 480 and 1080i. if you tried the reciever reset like mentioned above and it still doesnt work, then its probably the receiver.

and you double checked the hdmi cable is in all the way?

I was thinking the same thing I have the 605 too. You have to make sure your PS3 settings are correct. Make sure you have HDMI out/Linear PCM. I can't remember all the settings but when I got my 605 I didn't have the PS3 settings right because I had been using Toslink for my old receiver. I wasn't getting signal or sound out of the 605. When I changed the settings on the PS3, everything worked fine. Also don't forget about setting up you speakers with the microphone.

Worst case scenario, the receiver is not working properly and it should be covered by the guarantee.
