...You could get your hands on a Blu-ray the day the movie was released in theaters.
Never mind. I guess I'm not able to reopen the polls.. For example, if Ironman, Dark Knight, were released in theater, you could get in on Blu-ray the same day but you would have to pay 100$. How much would be the most you would pay, if you could get a blu-ray the day it was released in theater? Obviously it would be depending on the movie. But if the option were available, would you do it? Current Pole results as of 7/18/08 3:10 PM 36 said YES 207 said NO Last edited by Hero_Sky; 07-18-2008 at 09:12 PM. |

An authentic copy, and only for very select films I would pay for it. However with the current trend of 2-4 months for a BD release, maybe not lol

Considering most of us are very price conscious with new releases (FOX), I don't think too many will pay such a high price for a BD release before the theater release. Besides, how will we know if the movie is any good before it hits theaters. Personally, I try not to spend more than $20 a title. So, I can wait.
Personally, I wish the theaters would just go away and the movies be released on disc immediately. I know this will never happen. What will happen is another year of threads on people wondering if the movie theater experience is dead. Unfortunately there is just too much money for theaters not to exist. |

I would probably buy a movie i really wanted and felt like i couldn't wait for, then would have buyer's remorse once it dropped to $20-30 and wouldn't do it again.

hell no. The most I ever paid for a single movie was Blade Runner back in the 80's when money was virtually free from an allowance. I paid $75 for a VHS copy when movies were all about rentals. Since I now have a family to feed $100 will buy a lot of meat.

May purchase selected few at that price. Very few. So, the answer is generally, no.

Sure, why not. It's a 2K copy so I can easily make it back within 3 days of showing it to the neighbors at US$5 a person for a 20-seat home theater.
