Default To those who recommended Rock Band...

THANK YOU!

I love it!

I like the GHIII & Areosmith, but they got awfully frustrating. I'm enjoying Rock Band *so much more*!! The guitar took some getting used to, but I like it better now.
Can't wait till RB II comes out.

yes for 360, but for PS3, PS2, and Wii they have to wait a little longer
360-September
PS3-October
PS2, Wii-November

It appears as though the next Guitar Hero will aslo have drums and microphone. I already have GH3 so I'm leaning more towards just completing the set but that also depends on the set-list.

GH3 seemed to be less fun and harder than Rock Band but we'll see.

What are you all leaning toward?

'Rock Band' rules! And, 'Rock Band 1' content will be able to be transferred into 'Rock Band 2' so your setlist for the sequel will AT LEAST double instantly when it's released. Myself? I have 170+ songs that will get transferred over to 'Rock Band 2' when it releases. That means I'll have close to, if not more than, 300 songs for 'Rock Band 2' as soon as it is released. I hope that my scores transfer too!!!

Good idea... but make sure to get the 'Rock Band 1' software only version of the game at the same time as the 'Rock Band 2' instrument set.

That's been my experience. GHIII is harder, much less enjoyable than RB. I did try GH Areosmith, which I found much more fun and easier than GHIII.
However, I liked Rock Band better than both.

Having played both GHI-III and RB, I personally find that RB tends to be a bit more "realistic" in the notes being played onscreen than GH does. I felt that with playing GH that I was doing nothing more than crazy button mashing to keep up with the game versus RB's much smoother note transitions. Just MHO of course.

Being on a budget, I'm gonna forego the GHWT setup as RB2 will allow current RB1 owners to still utilize their DLC as well as current instruments. The upgrade option is there for those of us that want to upgrade, but at least Harmonix is not leaving the current RB1 fanbase out in the cold when the new game comes out. Well, they are leaving us PS3 owners out cold for about a month or so until the XBox 360 timed exclusiveness runs out

The only thing I wish about this is that it were free. Alex Rigopulos has said there is going to a fee to transfer the RB1 songs over (less than $5), but still a modest amount for the library you are getting. But my question is this...what is to prevent someone from borrowing a friends disc or renting it from Gamefly and just doing the transfer and then returning the disc to whomever you got it? Maybe that is why they are charging...

I feel the same way. I like GHIII/Areosmith, but musically RB seems to make more sense. In any case it's fun. I have a 14 year old son, who is really good at GHIII (360)
had no interest in RB on the PS3. After playing a couple of days, he was on my PS3 last night, playing RB. He really likes it. Can't blame him.
