Black Mask US Cut?

Anyone know if Black Mask will be the horrendous US Theatrical Cut? I won't be buying this if it's not the UNCUT Hong Kong version. What is even the point in releasing the stupid US version again? Haven't we suffered that version enough? The box art does not bode well for us, as it it's the same art that has been on every USA VHS and DVD of that movie. PLEASE give us at least the OPTION of the actual movie the way, you know, it was meant to be watched!

I agree with everyhting that you say but knowing how we get screwed when it come HK releases I won't hold my breath.

Well, so far it's been ok. You can get the uncut version of Kung Fu Hustle from Korea, they've released Infernal Affairs I-III, Invisible Target, Enter the Dragon. I guess the House of 1000 Daggers was the US cut. Doesn't Lionsgate have any ****ing decency?

We get screwed on HK releases hard! You can't even find Fist of Legend on DVD anymore. The majority of Jackie Chan movies are only available with dubs on DVD! We can barely get cantonese with subs. I had to import a few Chan movies so I could avoid the horrible dubs (Dragon Lord).

Many of Jet Li's movies you can get in Chinese but its an older crappier picture version. The newer cleaner versions for US have no Chinese audio and use a different title. It's really frustrating sometimes to do so much research just to properly watch a movie.

Anyway, yeah I hope this is not the US cut..

I didn't mean we get screwed in the sense that there are few releases. I meant in terms of original versions of HK films being available. But in your sense, yes we are ABSOLUTELY getting screwed. Where the hell is Dragon Dynasty?? I've stopped buying their great DVDs in anticipation of Blu-rays. The good news is, Celestial just released their first Shaw Bros film on BD. The bad news is it's some random drama I've never heard of.

i will not be buying the blu if it is the u.s. version i cannot stand english dubbed anything i hope it comes out in hk i am waiting for ddd house to get more in i ordered a few from there the other day..

Did NOT like the little girl's legs showing up in the box and the dubbing was terrible. Not a film I'd watch again personally but the more films on Blu'... the better!

well, looks like we get the theatrical cut with English 7.1 DTS-HD MA audio (though they seem unsure if the original Cantonese track will be included, but I doubt it )

im guessing the SD i have of the black mask is the US cut because there is a scene in the libary with blood all over the place and chalk outlines of bodies yet there is a exchange between two police officers about how no one was hurt yet you never see the libary staff again......... im guessing in the full cut the 701 attack the libary and killed the staff members?
