I pre-ordered and they still haven't sent it because I chose free super saver. GRRRRR. They say it ships in 6-10 days so they must have temporarily run out.

I ordered it 2 days ago and got it today. Yeah I think super saver shipping gets bottom of the chain priority. I did 2nd day via amazon prime.

yeah it makes sense, but it still sucks. it can pay off sometimes though when there isn't a high demand.

im just thinking, there are a good amount of people who got the movie who didn't order till lately and some who ordered far enough in advance where it shouldn't matter. i think it may really have something to do with how many each shipping location received. obviously it doesn't come from one location, so it may seem to make sense

Now, US amazon has "Departed" BR version. It started with 381 sotcks about ten minutes ago. It's already reduced to 370.

If you want this one, hurry up!

I don't see what the big deal is. I'd gladly wait 5-7 more days to get free shipping, and I commonly do.

I actually waited and grouped The Departed together with The Prestige for free shipping, so we'll see how that goes.

I was just in the mood to watch the movie haha. As for shipping together...I added Superman II to my Departed order to get free shipping and they shipped it well in advance so go figure...that was nice of them (the biggest reason I can't really complain about Departed not being in fast enough)

Sometimes they will even split up the order and not charge you extra. It's nice of them when they do that.

I suspect I'll have to wait a week a so after next Tues before I get The Departed and The Prestige because they are in such high demand, and I don't think Amazon sets them aside for people who ordered first and combined their orders.

Their shipping system is all screwed up.

I was in the same boat. I called up and *****ed for about a half-hour and they finally said they would ship me out a copy today with overnight shipping for free

If you buy or expect to buy a ton of BDs and other stuff from Amazon.com, you should subscribe to Amazon Prime.

Shipping and handling individual DVDs/BDs are about US$2? So 40 purchases in a year should cover it. I'm sure there are more than 40 BDs you want that are coming out this year.

So far I've ordered 6 BDs. All of which are gifts to the BF!

Yeah but if I buy two things that cost over $25 I pay nothing. I really don't care if I have to wait a few more days.

Having Prime has no effect over when they ship either. I had their Prime trial a few times, and they would ship my discs 4 or 5 days after their release date anyways. So frankly, to me it just didn't seem worth the $80 a year.

Yeah, I ordered The Departed and Prestige at the same time, and chose Super Saving shipping. So looks like I wont get either until a few days after the Prestige is released.

i'm new on here so be patient with me. I preordered my copy of the departed on friday february 9th. I also ordered a book from them to get the super saver shipping. it shipped monday and arrived wednesday, much sooner than expected. I just think they're shipping department is disorganized. I watched it last night and it looks amazing. that and lawrence of arabia are my favorite movies.

Currently Amazon shows The Departed in stock. But, my copy hasn't shipped and when I query about this, customer support says it is NOT in stock and they don't know when they will be getting more.
