Default Does anybody buy movies just for demo material?

Hi

I was just wondering if anybody buys movies they may not normally buy or watch just to use it for demo material. If so, which ones have you bought?

Yes, at first I got Ice Age 2 The Meltdown to show of the detail and quality but then I bought others too to show of the TV and system, and I started to like different materials. I was very happy!

Sounds strange to me to buy a movie one does not like for demo purposes when one can get movies one likes and use them as demo too if one wishes.
Or are you guys looking for something specific that is maybe not contained in the ones you like ?

Well I usually don't buy movies just for demo material but I do blind buy movies sometimes because I hear they are good movies and can be demo material as well. However if I don't like the movie itself I would probably sell it, even if the pq is amazing.

I bought Ratatouille because I knew the PQ was supposed to be top notch. Would I have bought it if the PQ was terrible? Probably not, but then who would? I've watched it about 4 or 5 times, so it's not really DEMO material, but probably one I wouldn't have blind-bought normally.

I do. (Two examples, Blade Runner is an okay flick but has an excellent transfer & Casino Royale for the same reason)

I bought I, Robot on Blu-ray solely for demo purposes. In actuality I don't like the movie that much but it is truly the best looking image I've seen out of hundreds of live action BDs.
