Nowadays many DVD sets are missing content that was aired on TV, specifically anytyhing involving famous music, whether it was in it's original form or spoofed for the show.
In Living Color for example, the DVD sets don't have the funny music videos that were aired (and are still aired) on cable. I'm especially irritated at how they show a picture of Jamie Fox as 'Trail Mix-a-Lot' on the cover art but there's no 'Baby's got Snacks' video on the set. As I see it, false advertising. Captain N and Super Mario have filler music in many places too. And I bet there's others like this. That being said, I'm well aware that legal contracting for a DVD is quite different from broadcasting, which is why this happens. So I ask theoretical ?s: First is whether these songs are attainable for home releases and it's just a matter of the publishers cutting corners, or if it simply can't be done. But if it were possible to get them, who thinks it would be worth a couple extra bucks to get the right music on your old shows? |
