Default Woolworths going bust - possible Blu-ray firesale?

If you're in the UK you'll know that Woolies is more than likely about to fold.

I've just paid them a visit and while their Blu-ray stock is still full-price at the mo I reckon there's a pretty good chance they'll start slashing prices soon.

Might be worth keeping an eye on!

I'd rather set myself on fire than give Woolworths any cash.

I had a look in there last week when they had their (up to) 50% off sale. Blu's and PS3 games were 10% off. Still cheaper buying online, plus the queues were massive. Don't exactly have a huge selection anyway.

If they have to rid get rid of all their stock they must slash prices a fair bit towards the end.

Have to beat hmv.com's 2 for £25 offer though!

If they are anything like Circuit City, they actually marked up Blu-rays before applying the discount.

They had already removed all the DVDs from display at the beginning of the week in the store near me (Lakeside Shopping Centre). They still had the Blu-ray section though which was a bit weird!

As others have said, even at 10% off they are still more expensive than other places on the high street and can't even compete with online prices.

I'm hoping they might drop the prices on what's left towards the end of next week. It was beginning to look a bit empty when I went there today.
