Default Lossless PCM from my PC help please.

I thought I read something on this site regarding this a while ago but I cannot find it.

My Sony STRDE698 does not have a HDMI in but it does have multi-channel anologue in, my PC has multi-anologue outs, is my set-up capable of lossless PCM? I have a Vista 32 bit Media Centre, with a BD drive.

If so when I play a PCM blu-ray will my PC decode the PCM track properly and send the signals to the appropriate channels.

Also, the channels on my PC share output jacks, ie; L/R share one out, C/LFE share another one, etc. and are the smaller PC type audio jacks. Is this going to be a problem trying to achieve lossless PCM?

Another question, if all this is possible will my PC decode DTSHD-MA and TrueHD and send as PCM, I have full versions of software that can decode these formats.

Please, someone make my day. Thanks, O!

First of all - your software will decode these formats, and the computer will decode the signal and output it via the analog outs to the receivers multi-ins. What model soundcard do you own?

In short: Yes it will work and you will have "lossless audio", as long as your soundcard's DAC (DigitalAnalogConverter) is up to the task and your software doesn't mess with the audio decoding.

Sharing output jacks isn't a problem. I'd recommend getting decent breakout cables ("adapters") for these outputs, so you can use good cables to connect to your receiver.

Thanks for the replies guys.

@prerich
I'm not sure what make/model my card is. It came with the PC.
