Default Culpepper to Patriots?

Doesn't it make sense? Being a grad of UCF myself...and seeing Culpepper retire was heart-breaking. Now that Tom Brady is down and out for the season, Culpepper is looking like a mighty good pick-up (if healthy and in shape).

Thoughts? Wouldn't it be nice to see the ol' Culpepper to Moss highlight reel, albeit with Pats colors?

No chance, he was cut because he has absolutely no lateral movement, his knee is done. Dante was being Dante when he said hes retiring because he was "black-listed" which is ridiculous. He was cut and that was it, he's damaged goods.

Living in MN and watching him with the Vikings, I would say no way. He can’t get it done when he needs to, and he is too injury prone. Lots of people talked about him, but he never lived up to the expectations.

Besides, the record breaking 1998 season Moss had with the Vikes was with Randall Cunningham at the QB position

Is this 2003? Did we travel back in time? Culpepper's knee injury unfortunately ended his career. He was never the same guy.

And him saying that he was sort of being blackballed from the NFL is ridiculous. Teams offered him jobs to be a back-up and he didn't want to sit on the bench and maybe play if/when an injury occurred.

Not only that he wanted more then 1 million in money which is why he is now retired. I wont say it's never going to happen but i hope it never happens. He cant read a defence to save his life, has never even looked at our playbook and his strong asset of being able to run is over with now on old and banged up knees.

I rather live or die with Cassel right now, he knows our system and has tallent around him to succeed. Any one they bring in will automatically become the 3rd string for the fact they would need weeks to get the offence plays down.

Ahh, I don't think he's as bad as some are portraying. He played with the Raiders as a backup QB last year, and when he got a chance to play, he did awesome in two games straight...had one mediocre game in his third game, and the Raiders benched him for the rest of the season.

If anything, he may need to work on his personality skills, as he appears to rub some the wrong way.

If TN doesn't sign JOE HARRINGTON, NE will take a run at him.

The Pats need to get another quarterback in there this week, even if it's Gutierrez, who they cut. They cannot risk Cassel getting hurt and having to go with rookie Kevin O'Connell. Daunte looked a little better last year and I think he's healthier than he's been in years, so he could be a good option.
