Denon AVR 2808 + Samsung BD-P1400 issue - Blu-ray Forum

Hi,

I have Denon AVR 2808 + Samsung BD-P1400 combo.

Samsung is configured to Bitstream output.

While playing a DTS HD MA track, the Denon displays shows :

DTS-HD HI RES whereas it should show DTS-HD MSTR

Is my player not able to transmit the full ma bitstream on the hdmi link ?

The P1400 bitstreams all audio formats, including MA. I am not familiar with the 2808 so I cannot make a reasonable suggestion which of the two pieces of equipment is causing the problem. I know that I have no problems bitstreaming all audio formats with my P1400/805 setup.

Looks like I was cheated by the blu-ray I used.

I tried both "The Transporter " and "The Transporter II" which have dts-ma written all over the insert. Unfortunately it's a lie, as both soundtracks are only dts-hd. (blu sold in Belgium).

I checked with a real dts-ma track (Mr and ms Smith). Receiver correctly shows DTS MSTR
