Default Geek Squad and broken HDMI Port

Are HDMI inputs easy to fix cause my sharp 32 inch aqous I paid 1,300 for last year had a non workin port of the 3 and the geek aquad is coming out to fix it tom and I really just wanna get a gift card so i can get a bigger and better tv.What can I do to my TV that will make sure the geek squad cant fix it?LoL I kno this sounds crazy but if they cant fix it I get a giftcard for the amount with my warranty.Thanks.

Damn I'm sorry to hear that - 32" for $1,300 when you can pick up a 42" 1080p Panny plasma for $1,000!! I feel your pain.

I don't think you should even consider trying to sabotage your TV. You don't want to risk losing everything. Why don't you list it in a classified in the local paper, try and get $900 for it...or keep it for a 2nd set for a bedroom/family room, etc?

LOL...OP, I had to read this 3 times before I realized you actually WANTED them to try to do something that they CAN'T fix ....too funny....anyway, I wouldn't risk not having a TV at all. Try to sell it and start doing your research now on an even bigger and better TV that will satisfy your needs....beware of the HT bug though, as getting a bigger and better TV is how I got the "sickness." Good luck and let us know what happens, as I really am interested to see how this turns out...

Wow, everyone always complains about BB's high prices but are willing to do whatever they can to try to rip off the company.

Sadly not everyone is ethical. The more scams get pulled off the higher the prices honest consumers will have to pay.

so you want to voluntarily sabotage your TV while it's still under warranty so you can cash in its value and put that towards a bigger and better TV instead?
isn't that fraud?

Here is a thought, let them fix it and then try and sell it. Why should Best Buy give you a gift card for the value of the TV if they can fix it. You are quite the honest person. This is another reason to add to the list on why prices go up.

No, it just sounds illegal and/or fraudulent.

Another example of someone taking a shortcut while everyone else gets screwed.

Here's my advice: be a man.

If you try to find a way around it, I hope you get caught.

I love how everyone in this thread has ethics, not 1 person here can say they haven't thought or done something like this in the past, maybe not to this extent but really don't crap on a guy trying to figure out a way around this problem and get a new TV. This is not the reasons prices go up it has everything to do with the economy not minor crap like this and besides BB and big chain stores write this off and it costs them nothing. Someone explain to me why all prices are getting lower right now, is it know one is returning their TV?

Well they told me when I bought the warranty if anything happens they will exchange in store and if there wasnt a replacement than give me gift card well now they have this bs where geek squad comes to my house i dont rly want some stranger in my house.I just hope he cant fix it.Oh they dont carry my model anymore. This is why i paid the 180 for a warranty. Its stupid becasuse some stores say bring it in to swap and others dont I dont live near any that will swap it.

I can say that. I guarantee others can. The majority of people are law-abiding and rule-abiding people.

Regarding prices going up, I have no idea if it's related to him and other fraudfeasors. I can guarantee they don't help.

It just boggles my mind that people pull these stunts. Then again, I'm boggled when murders murder, robbers rob, and rapists rape.

It's fraud, chief. No two ways about it.

If you were my client, I would highly recommend that you NOT do it.

You can justify it anyway you want to, it doesn't mean it's (1) ethical, and (2) legal.

Clearly you don't care. You made that obvious.

We're all telling you that you SHOULD care.

I'll continue to crap on your thread, since I'm virtually certain the rules of Blu-ray.com require that you don't post threads about illegal activity. [EDIT: My God, I'm wrong! LOL] It'll get closed one way or another.

Good luck though, totally.
