PS3 lost settings - Blu-ray Forum

I was watching a dvd and then all of a sudden the remote stopped working. I turned off my PS3 and restarted it and when it came back up all the settings were lost. All the video and audio settings need to be reset. Does anybody know why this would happen? Also is it safe to do the newest update?

I know that if you hold your finger on the power button on the unit for too long, it will reset your audio and video settings...
