Default Panny TH-50PZ80U advice needed :)

So i finally got my best buy issue dealt with and 12 weeks later i have beena ble to go out and get a new tv! good bye Sammy 40" LCD and Hello Panny TH-50PZ80U! This set looks awesome out of the box but i am new to plasma!

Any hints and tips from you Plasma Guru's out there will be greatly appreciated!

Settings for this tv!
Image retention issues and cures.
Burn in worries and cures
Break In Period

what should i have the pixel orbiter set to? automatic? force? sorry for all the Q's just wanna make sure i can get through this beak in phase!

Dude...you are killing me.


With as much as you are on this forum - you should know that you have to calibrate the TV once you get it in your place. But check out the owners thread over at AVS.

Image retention: Don't be stupid and it won't be a problem
Burn in: see above
Break in: 100 hours minimum. Again, check out AVS


I'm glad you finally solved your issue and went with a Panasonic

When I got my new plasma I downloaded the burn-in dvd off AVS forums and ran that for about 100 hours. I don't know if it made a difference but I haven't had any image retention or burn-in.

Congrats on the new TV!

My settings are here...

(I hope they are up to date).

I have rechecked the contrast and brightness recently with the DVE. I took the other settings from tweaktv.com

awesome thanks man! do you think these are safe to use while in the break in phase? have you noticed anything out of the ordinary happen while using them?

also my HD size option is greyed out, how do you activate that?
