FINALLY this makes it to the States.......One wonders if the recent escape of those two murders had something in the announcement considering it's so fresh in the news.....

January, 2009 - DVD was $5.00. Wasn't even thinking about upgrades back then, just paying the lowest possible price for a complete Eastwood collection.

But nearly 7 years later, it makes the double-dip easier.

This looks to be a planned Paramount catalog wave, along with the 5 other titles they're coming out with on Oct. 13. These were all likely candidates for a US release, and I expected them all for a few years, just not all on the same day lol.

Escape from Alcatraz is one of my all-time top 10 movies.

I own the region free UK Blu-ray, and I'm extremely happy with it, but I'll double-dip if there are any improvements to the transfer.

Just saw this for the first time last month, and it is without question one of Eastwood's best films as an actor. Glad it's getting the blu treatment.
