HDMI or Component for BD30? Help! - Blu-ray Forum

My TV doesn't support 1080p, only 1080i.

Would you recommend a HDMI cable or a component lead to connect my TV to my BD30?

If your TV has an HDMI input, use HDMI cable. One cable takes care of all your video and your audio needs. In the BD player's menu, set the output to 1080i. With component, you will need 4 cables (3 commponent and one optical or coax) or 5 cables (3 component and two RCA).

If you still watch DVD'd, I don't think you can upconvert via component cables. HDMI still seems the better option.
