Default Cinematic Titanic Episode One Promo - The Oozing Skull (MST3K guys)

In the far-off land of Kalid, President Amir lies on his deathbed. If this revered head-of-state dies, the brutal dictatorship that he has so lovingly cultivated will fall into a dark age of uncertainty and chaos. And so, in this moment of crisis, his loyal staff are left with no alternative but to choose the only logical and sensible course of action - to transfer Amir's brain into a younger, healthier, and most importantly, living body.

Enter Doctor Robert Trenton, a mad scientist of the traditional "they all laughed at me and now I'll show them" school. He, along with his assistant, Dorro, a little man with a big appetite for evil, and Tracy, a conniving beauty with a heart that's harder than her leathery, over-tanned skin, concoct a deliriously diabolical plan involving murder, body-napping, skullduggery, and oozy, gooey brains.

Afraid to watch this movie alone, aren't you? Well, now you don't have to, and neither will future generations, because The Oozing Skull has the almost historic distinction of being the first movie chosen for Cinematic Titanic - the new movie riffing delivery system.

Created by Joel Hodgson, creator of Mystery Science Theater 3000, Cinematic Titanic peppers The Oozing Skull with the kind of hilarious, rapid-fire commentary that fans of fine movie riffing have come to know and love. Joining Joel are his original Mystery Science Theater 3000 cast mates Trace Beaulieu and J. Elvis Weinstein, along with longtime MST3K writers and cast members Frank Conniff and Mary Jo Pehl. It's gonna get ugly, but then it's gonna get funny, so strap yourself in for the skull-oozing, gut-busting ride that is Cinematic Titanic.

Mods, please move this to the Movie Forum.

My Cinematic Titanic DVD's came in yesterday and watched the Oozing Skull last night. First off, it includes the original cast is from MST3K, so there's no Mike, Kevin Murphy (newer servo) or Bill Corbett (new crow).

Once the movie started, I was a bit concerned that there were 5 commentary silhouettes instead of the 3 I was used to...could this be too many people spouting off derogatory remarks? At first it did seem like that during the opening but things got better. During the movie, they will interact with their hands and props and also will pause the movie to discuss something - which is good, it breaks up the movie.

The commentary is what you remember from yesteryear. Witty, fun and entertaining. If you like you like MST3K you'll enjoy this offering from Cinematic Titanic..

Things I do miss are the the robots, the skits (although they were cheesy, I still enjoyed them - they broke up the movie), and the overall premise that this poor guy was stuck in space forced to watch these movies, held captive by a mad scientists...
