Petition: Dear Sony, Release Ghostbusters In 2008! - Blu-ray Forum

I was very upset to see that the Ghostbusters Blu-ray is being delayed indefinitely, so I decided to create this petition. I know that next year is the 25th anniversary and that the video game has been postponed until it gets a publisher, but the anticipation is driving me crazy now that the rumored release date in October is no more. Maybe there is some slight chance that someone at Sony will see how much we want it now, and they'll decide to release it in 2008 anyways (or at least release it in early 2009). If they truly are done working on it, then they should release it this year as a kind gesture to the fans.

Is there a who cares option? I'll get them one they come out but there are about 30 to 40 movies I am getting for there rest of 2008 already and most if which I would rather have over Ghostbusters.

I voted yes but at the same time I have so many blu ray purchases lines up, I can take a break and pull one off my list till next year. But you who knows. I just want the films I could care less about the video games being released.

There is plenty to purchaser in 2008. However, I think Sony should release it 2008 since they bothered to get everyone excited at Comic-Con.

Personally, I'd rather have Bourne Trilogy, Pulp Fiction, Gladiator, and Jurassic Park instead of Ghostbusters.

But I can understand why some folks are upset by the news.

At the risk of sounding pessimistic, do you really think a petition on a forum is going to sway the big guys over at Sony ?

There was a thread created in this forum to show Warner Brothers that fans were angry about Speed Racer only having DD 5.1 instead of hi-def sound. Just like that thread's creator, I made this thread hoping that there would be a slight chance that Sony would see it and change their mind.

Back OT, while I'd love it in 2008, looks like it's just not happening. No petition or poll will change that. A letter-writing campaign, on the other hand, could.

It's not a big deal. I'm sure Sony's releases of Blue Streak and National Security will make up for the Ghostbusters delay.
