This is already on here somewhere. Although it doesn make it any less exciting! If my bank account were a real person it'd probably punch me in the face

100 titles from one studio scares me...in a good way.

Well Blu-ray does have about 11 years of catalogue titles to catch up with DVD.

This is definitely good news. My next question is, does Sony studios even have 100 movies that I would like to see on BD?

Sony has plenty of catalog and new titles I would love to see. This is great news for this year. Also I believe fox made a similar statement last year saying that they would release up to 100 titles this year. This will be a great tear in terms of releases. We will easily see 250+ titles this year.

Now we need other studios to follow suit, especially Universal / Paramount which owe us a lot.

If Universal really gets going, we could see 150-200 titles from them.

Just please no more of the likes of Mobsters and The Watcher though! Hopefully they've learned their lesson by now!

Well, they better start announcing because two months of the year have already passed. It would require that Sony release ten titles, on average, every month for the remainder of the year. I doubt it will actually happen. So far, Sony has announced three titles for March and six titles for April.

This should excite me, but oddly enough I'm apathetic to this news. I already have CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND, LIFE OF BRIAN and ACROSS THE UNIVERSE on Blu-Ray. And the only other Sony titles that I have are DR. STRANGELOVE, DOGMA (which I'll be getting on the 11th), the two EVENING WITH KEVIN SMITH DVDs, LEON THE PROFESSIONAL and almost all of SEINFELD.

So if DR. STRANGELOVE and LEON THE PROFESSIONAL are two of those 100 titles they have in mind, then I'll be OK. As per stuff I don't have that I might get, maybe GHOSTBUSTERS and MEN IN BLACK. But definitely LAWRENCE OF ARABIA, which I think won't be out until 09. And DESPERADO. That's one Sony action movie I'd love to get.
