People upgrading their projectors and me getting a good deal on their old one - the t - Blu-ray Forum

I'm not quite in the position to buy a projector yet, in terms of having a good place to even set it up - but I'm curious about the used projector market. If I don't want to spend a few grand for a brand new 1080p with a great contrast ratio, what do you guys do with your old 720Ps or lesser 1080Ps when you get a new one and what sort of prices should I look for in a good deal.

With JVC's recent announcement of new projectors coming out early next year, I would expect that you will find a lot of used RS-1's in the $1-2k range very soon. This would be a great projector deal for ~$1k (relatively bright at 700 lumens in best calibrated mode with a native 15000:1 sequential contrast ratio).

Seems silly to pay $1500 for a projector that' 800 X 600. Was looking for someone's higher end(in good condition) that they're looking to sell when they get a newer model. Like a used RS-1 for cheap sounds great.

Sounds good to me, sign me up. (I've actually not seen an RS-1 but I've read plenty about them.)
