any import BD players to be region free? - Blu-ray Forum

was wondering if any of these cheaper chinese BD players coming out will be region free?
this happened with DVD, so hopefully all us amazon buyers over here in oz can make life easier to play region A & B discs.

A player was released recently in Norway (only for sale in a so-called "hypermarket" store, which mainly sells groceries). It's a no-name brand, profile 1.1 player. The distributor confirmed that it could change regions on Blu-ray discs by using the remote. It looks to be a rebrand of this one:

yeah thanks guys, i was speaking to guy over here who does mod chips for consoles and he also mentioned that in places like norway, they dont have region coded players and any disc can be played from anywhere in the world.
