Highlander on Blu-ray? - Blu-ray Forum

Has anyone heard anything about the original Highlander movie being released on Blu-ray. I'd like to see Russell Mulcahy do what Ridley Scott did with Blade Runner. Highlander is a true cult classic. I'd like to see the original theatrical cut in full 1080p and Dolby TrueHD. I'd like to see the Director's Cut containing all the deleted scenes in full 1080p and Dolby TrueHD. Anyone else game for this one....

I would buy it as soon as it would be released. I watched it on Universal High Def channel last night and it looked great. Could only imagine what Blu-Ray sound would be like!!!!! The first one was the best one but i would also buy the complete movie series if it is ever released.

Nothing has been announced nor have there been any rumors about Highlander coming anytime soon. Don't think this is too high on the release list.

It'll take years for those F/X to get touched up. Jeez they looked like crayon drawings in SD.

I believe that a French release is on the cards for this year.

I saw the first Highlander on UHD the other night and it looked awesome, the sound needed work but I'm sure a Blu release would fix that. It probably won't be until the remake comes out but the picture blew away my dvd.

I'd love to see Highlander done right... Hmmm since it was on Universal HD will they have the rights now? I think Republic did at one time... Who owns Republic Pictures now? I could see maybe Lions Gate picking this one up. I'd much rather see Disney, as I think they had the rights to Highlader The Final Dimension....

Highlander is my favorite movie, I tried to write my own version of a remake so that in my head at least, it's be done right. I'd like to fill in the backstory between Ramirez and The Kurgan, I believe that there's a history there to be told.

I am ready for HL in Blu. I currently have the 10th Anniversary edition and the Immortal Edition on DVD. I also have all 6 seasons on DVD.
