Pioneer VSX-01THX or VSX-1018AH-K??? - Blu-ray Forum

Trying to decide between these two receivers. What is the big difference between these two besides the 01THX being "elite" and THX certification?? Is the 01THX better for some future proofing??

welcome to the foray JJJ!

if im not mistaken, the 01 does NOT have HDMI repeating capabilities, but the 1018 does. if ever you'd like to go with the elite series, your best bet would be the 02 model.

The THX Ultra2 will matrix 5.1 audio to 7.1 if you are using an 8-channel set-up. The THX model also probably has better quality parts.
