Default Margarita lovers...

I'm on a margarita kick and was wondering if anyone had some good recipes? Specifically on whether to use Cointreau or Grand Marnier. I like simple 'ritas with good tequila, fresh lime juice, and either Cointreau or Grand Marnier.

I'm all for shots of good tequila, but my wife likes the 'ritas, so I drink with her. Thats why I was aking for good/simple recipes, I hate all that sweet & sour crap.

Lately I've tried Patron respado and Hornitos silver. Patron was great, Hornitos was OK. I might try Cabo Wabo next.

Anyone got opinions on Cointreau vs Grand Marnier in margaritas?

I make Top Shelf Margaritas...

in shaker
two shots of Patron Silver
Two shots of rita mix
one shot of Cointreau
one shot of Gran Marnier
add crushed ice

Shake it briskly for at least 10 seconds
pour into glass rimmed with salt and a lemon twist
Enjoy!

Is DJ the same price as Patron? I've never had DJ before and would love to try it, as long as it is not more than Patron.

Anyone try Tres Generaciones tequila? If so, how does it compare to Don Julio or Patron?

The Don Julio I'm talking about is a special on that is about $120-$200 a bottle depending on where you go. It's the smoothest tequila you will have.

Other than that if you want a good one try Hornitos.

My fav right now is Jose Cuervo BLACK with coke.
