Based on suggestions from the board, I picked up the Polk RM6750 5.1 set from Fry's (couldn't beat the $199 price).
Now, on to the receiver. I was looking at the Sony STR-DG820, which I found online for $290 new in-box, which is quite the deal (I think many can agree with that). I do like the Yamaha 663, but its just far too expensive (can't find it for lower than $480 new, which is a bit out of my range). I have found it cheaper as a refurb, but I'd rather avoid that. Question: Based on the speakers and my PS3, is the 820 a good choice? From the board, I can tell the general feeling is, "Its a decent receiver with a few bells and whistles...buuuuut it is Sony audio product." Secondary question: The 820 can take banana plugs, correct? Thanks! |
