Default HD DVD cheaper ?

I keep reading posts here and afar that say HD DVD is cheaper... maybe people mean the players because those God forsaken flipper movies certainly are NOT cheaper. And who wants a flipper? Isn't the point of going High Def, just that? I like the artwork on one side and my movie on the other... if I wanted DVD, I'd stick with DVD... let's move on.

With that said, I also want to take a moment to say thanks to you guys. I started out like everyone else... reading and comparing, listening to some of that MS-DVD FUD... in the end, you saved me because this forum contains intelligent people who can rationally compare the two formats (even though this is a Blu-ray forum, you guys are much more mature and articulate). I could mention other forums where it's all grade school name-calling and tons of FUD... but anyway, thanks again. I'm now the proud owner of 29 Blu-ray flicks (once my recent Amazon order arrives) and many more to come.
