Samsung 61" and Samsung Slimline 56"

Great TVs, but they make wierd popping noises occasionally. It is the heat escaping thru the seals in the tv cabinet. The 6187 model does it only once a day, but the slimline 56" in our bedroom does it at least every 30 minutes.

56 inch samsung here
DLP is a good bang for your buck. Size and picture. Gotta replace bulbs so keep that in mind. An extended warranty should cover the cost to replace the bulb and is a wise investment.
Wanted a mitsubishi because i really think the picture was great but got too good a deal on the sammy.
Not dissapointed at all.
If you want to get technical i believe the picture quality is a little better than a rear projection LCD. Only because i believe the DMD chip in a DLP is a better tech. It seems that the mirrors are more tightly packed together so there is less distance between the individual pixels when the picture is projected. So you should see a better picture with less "window screen" effect.
Again that is my own opinion and you should do your own research and make a decision.

Click on launch the demo. Should give you a really good idea of what the DMD chip does.
Anyways my 2 cents
