If mods want to move this feel free, not sure if it goes here or not.

Check out this thread.

I just don't get it. I really don't.

Not sure if I should feel sorry for them or what? All the rational HD DVD fans have gotten a grip, but some just hold on like rabid dogs.

My fault. The shame is that they removed some of the "better" comments in the thread

I have that Westinghouse 47" It is by far and away the UGLIEST hdtv I have ever owned, even the first gen LCD RP I bought back in 2000. Even a professional calibration couldn't help it. Now it's just my Wii tv.

I don't see what is so funny about people asking for it on hd-dvd. Yeah... they aren't going to get it, but those of us who didn't buy both formats or didn't select the winning format on the first try; just want to see it in HD glory without having to buy a new player. There's no harm or shame in just asking.

I find most HD-DVD fans have come to terms and been good sports about the whole thing.

But there will always be those who'll never give it up.

Question Pardon My Ignorance..

but is this impossible? I jumped on the Blu bandwagon before the format war was decided, but never paid much attention as to what HD-Dvds were being, or not being released. I just assumed that once it was all over, so were new releases. To toss the coin though, some bands release new recordings as both cd & LP choices, so who knows???????????????????

It's not the fact that they want it on HD DVD, it is the fact that they actually think there is a possibilty of getting it on HD DVD.

Delusional.

The best part of it is that I'll wager some of them even have BR AND HD DVD players, and would buy the gimped "HD DVD version" JUST because it is on HD DVD, bitrate and capacity be damned.

I am sure there are blu fans who would have acted the same, I just don't see what the end game is. If HD DVD would have won (of course I figured it wouldnt) I would have an HD DVD player to enjoy my movies in high def.

In the end it isn't about formats, it's about the movies. We are all lucky IMO that BR won, but make no mistake, without the content, BR (and HD DVD) are video game and recording medium.
