When you pre-order things, does amazon charge you immediately or when they ship?

that's weird cos the other day i ordered SH-Homecoming and I was charged right away, and I doubt it was shipped at that moment? It shipped the following day, though

once its processed to ship they bill you to see if the card is good before sending the order to the shipping department. SO there may be some lag there, but if you preorder say TDK, they wont charge it til closer to the 9th when they get ready to ship it

i figure i'll post here. I'm trying to do the $10 mail in rebate for Gangs of New York and Transformers. I got them both from Amazon and don't have the paper receipt anymore. Since I need a receipt for me to get the rebate. Can I ask Amazon for a copy?

Thats right opps. Usually when I get stuff in the mail it's usually Amazon. Yeah I think I'm going to need a receipt.
