7.1 question - Blu-ray Forum

This weekend i am completing my home theatre room. how big does it need to be to get the full effect of 7.1? and what is the correct speaker placement? Any help is appreciated.

Your room can be almost any size. You should have your basic three front speakers(front,center,& left). Then you should put speakers on both sides of your seating area(one on each side) about one to two feet above your ears when you are sitting in your seating area. And last, put your last two speakers behind you left & right at same height as your sides.(1-2 feet above ears). I hope this helps...if not go to dolby.com and there is a diagam on 7.1 systems
