PS3 and MKV - Blu-ray Forum

so the PS3 doesnt play mkv files? do you have to convert them or stream/convert them? that sucks, please tell me i'm wrong

ps3 wont play mkvs

but its usually a really quick conversion to get it to play on the ps3 (unless the mkv encoders messed up then it could take HOURSS)

download mkv2vob <<u'll find it at doom9.org

Nope, it doesn't. You have to convert it first.

if you use mkv2vob, then yes.. it'll keep the same resolution and all that, but its simply been changed to vob or mpeg or whatever you set it to output as :P

and it works great.... and free
