Default UK PS3 Shortages....

http://hdtvorg.co.uk/news/articles/2007031003.htm

Looks like 220,000 might no be enough units for the UK.

105,000 is the record for a launch in the UK (set by Wii)...I think that people are hyping a sellout so they can shit on the PS3 when it doesn' sellout, even though it'll definitely get the record :|

200k is a good number when Sony only needs 1 million during launch (or is this up to March 31st???)

This is just the UK; let's not forget about the other PAL areas in the EU plus units to be sold in Australia and New Zealand as well.

All in all, this would be the sales contribution for the PAL PS3.

I just got this message from Gameplay.com -

Quote:
Dear Gameplay Customer,

We are delighted to inform you that your PS3 has arrived in our warehouse and we are preparing to ship it out to you for delivery on March 23rd! Not long to go now!

Due to the incredible number of orders, we will need to begin processing your order early – to ensure you receive your PS3 for launch please ensure that your payment details are up-to-date and that there are available funds in your account from tomorrow, March 15th.
So I'm super-certain I've got a PS3 now and I never got an email like that with the 360 or Wii launch (also ordered from Gameplay) so it looks like they really do have an incredible number of orders despite the price if they're preparing this early.

You are right.

If Sony doesnt ship enough consoles everyone claims they're in bad shape.

If they ship enough consoles and they don't sell out, even if it breaks records, everyone claims Sony is in bad shape.
