Default BDP-S350 took a dump on me a month out

So this morning I power up the player to finish watching a movie from last night, and it flashes 'Load' on the front panel over and over. It eventually fails with 'Cannot playback this disc' and the BD icon is labeled as 'Unknown'. I'm guessing it's either a dirty or defective laser. I've tried two BD's and one DVD, same thing. The Sony chat support monkey had me reset all the settings, unplug, etc. with of course no change.

I bought this thing on 9-7, do ya think BB would be cool and exchange it? Or am I screwed and have to ship to Sony for who-knows-how-long?

Well good news, they took it back and exchanged it with almost no questions asked. I have had surprisingly good customer service from BB these past couple of times I've been in, which does not reflect my previous experience.

Better for it to fail now when you can exchange it then 12 months from now.

For a minute, there, I thought this was a "my BD player, me and a cup" thread.

Might want to reword the title! LOL.
