Help! No picture or sound with HDMI or A/V cable!

My PS3 was just working yesterday and when I turned it on today there is no picture or sound through the HDMI cable or the A/V cable!

OK, I got the AV Cable to work after I reset the video settings but the HDMI won't work. Is my cable defective?

How long have you had the hdmi cable?

A little over a month. I spent too much on a Sony brand HDMI cable.

Also, the PS3 is only a little over a month old.

When you changed the settings from the AV cable to HDMI, did you also change the TV input? Some TVs have override mode, where a TV input will be automatically chosen if a better signal comes in: composite<S-Video cable<Component<HDMI.

You can also set composite to Input 2 and HDMI as Input 1. Once you got it setup, unplug the composite connection.

The inputs from the HDMI are separate from the AV inputs. You have to select HDMI1 or HDMI2 on my TV. The AV are Inputs 1-3 and are different. It was set correctly.
