Arrow Screw the Economy - Gordon Gekko is Headed Back to Wall Street!

Head over here for the full article.

Worried about your money and stocks in our current economic situation? Gordon Gekko isn't! Back from prison and ready to "re-emerge" into the modern financial world, Gordon Gekko (the ruthless character played by Michael Douglas in the original) will be back again in a Wall Street sequel. Fox is fast-tracking this project, obviously capitalizing on our current economic situation, and has hired Allan Loeb (of Things We Lost in the Fire and 21 previously) to write the screenplay. This isn't the first time we've heard this mentioned, as it was officially announced last year and id only just now being given the green light.

Michael Douglas isn't officially attached yet, but Fox really wants to get him back. And the character of Bud Fox, played by Charlie Sheen, won't even be in this sequel. Thankfully Edward R. Pressman, who produced the original 1987 Oliver Stone film, is back again working on this. I just hope that Allan Loeb can actually put together a script worthy of living up to the original iconic film, which seems like a monumental feat. The announcement last year named Stephen Schiff as the writer and Money Never Sleeps as the title, but all that seems to have gone the same way as our economy recently (e.g. down the tubes).
