Pioneer BDC 2202 (BD 202) not playing... - Blu-ray Forum

I'm new to blu-ray on pc (I have a ps3) so I am completely lost as to what to do regarding my BD 202 not playing any discs. So far, I've tried Top Gun and Cloverfield, and neither have worked, but that's partly because I have no idea what I need to be using.

I have the trial of PowerDVD 8 but it says that the disc in the drive has an unsupported format. Could there be a driver I need for the drive? I tried to download one from Pioneer's website but it ended up saying "available target not found". I have no idea what that means.

Oh, my specs, if they help @ all.
2x GeForce 9800 GX2
BDC-2202 (BD 202)
Nforce 790i
Intel Core 2 quad @ 3.33 GHz

any ideas?

I think the trial version of PowerDVD 8 doesn't support blu-ray playback (please correct me if I'm wrong) and I think that's your problem.

Maybe you should've bought the retail version of your blu-ray drive - usually those come with an OEM version of a software player, that supports blu-ray playback.

Now, I think you'll have to buy a separate software player.

You could also try the trial version of ArcSoft TotalMedia Theatre - this will play blu-ray as far as I know (but only for a limited time of course).
