Pioneer BDC-2202 for PC - Blu-ray Forum

I just purchased this new Blu-Ray reader/DVD burner/CD burner last week and Im curious if anyone has figured out which software goes best with this player. WinDVD 8 came with but I couldnt get any Bluray discs to play until I installed AnyDVD 6.4.3.2 ! And even then not all the discs would play. Is Power DVD Ultra the best player software out right now ? I would appreciate any experienced advice on this subject.

Am I the only person who owns one of these....anyone at all have any opinions on the software issue for PC BluRay players ? Thanks for anu help at all...jwill58

I have this same drive - I have installed the included software (WinDVD 8) on both XP and Vista without any problems. I did have to run the patch for WinDVD to get a few movies to play correctly, but it's always worked for me. To date I have but a single movie I can't play on this drive. And it's one I really want to watch too!!

If your using the software that came with the drive it isn't very good at all (i have the version that came with the retail pack of the BDC-202).

The best thing to do is get either InterVideo WinDVD 9 Plus, Cyberlink PowerDVD 8 plus or Arcsoft Total Media Theatre.

I have the same drive but upgraded to WinDVD 9 Plus Blu-ray for other reasons. Have you installed the patch found on Pioneer's web site?
