Default Java and Blu Ray

I'm looking for a bit of understanding on how Java and Blu Ray work together. Also another (maybe related??) question: Supposedly on a Blu Ray disk, you can get into menus and other things while the content is playing. These things would overlap the content, presumably at any point during the movie or whatever....Assuming the playing content is reading from the disk in real time, there must be some pre-loaded stuff which sits in memory. How does this work?

What is the relevance of JAva to Blu-Ray? Did I already ask that???

As far as I know, all the Java stuff is loaded into memory at the start, when you put the Blu-ray disc in the drive (which is why some discs can take a bit longer to load than others), and when the graphics/other java stuff is loaded, I think it's always running the Java program while the movie or show is playing so you can press the pop-up menus without it stopping playing the movie
