Default Weird Lighting Issue...

I have a SHARP Aquos Bluray player... FYI.

I watched Patriot Games & Clear & Present Danger on BD - both films have this weird blue lighting "pulse" in the background... Like every couple seconds a slight blue light will pulse in the background... in dark areas.

I not sure how to describe it any better then that. I've also noticed it on a few HDDVDs.

Anyone experienced this issue?

It's not on the films themselves... I have them and don't see any of that myself. I'd try another input in the display. If you have HDMI 1 and HDMI 2, try it in the other and see what happens. Weird! If you get it on both inputs, try and see if it happens in the same spot in the movie all the time. If so, maybe it IS the discs but if not and you've tried both inputs, change to Component input and see if the anomaly shows up that way. Gotta be a reason for it. My first inclination is that it's the panel itself.

You could also try and take the discs to a store and play the same passage on the store display assuming they've got a Blu-Ray hooked up. That would tell you if it's the discs or not.

Also, make sure the player has the latest firmware update. Check the cable you're running as well. HDMI inputs are very sensitive and do not take much movement of the cable head, that's for damn sure.

I know it has the most recent update... Infact I'm still waiting for SHARP to update for "the Happening" which is not playing at all.

I have watched several BDs and these two films are the only ones with this "pulse" issues... It's bizzare. Good input guys - I'll look into it.
