Hi-- I have a Magnavox NB500 (yes I know-- el cheapo), and on some BD's of older movies ( at least it seems to be only older movies--"The Mummy", for example) we get sound at the very beginning, for previews and titles and such, but when it gets to "play movie", there is no sound at all. We have an RCA home theater system. We had to switch the sound from digital to dolby to get sound on "Total Recall". Newer BD's play just fine-- "Casino Royale", "National Treasure", etc-- no problems. Any suggestions?

I assume you're using optical for audio to the RCA HTiB, correct? If so, make sure that the player isn't trying to output via HDMI. It may be trying that and then moving over to optical- hence the delay in sound.
What audio codec are you using? Are you sending the audio out via Bitstream or LPCM? Just need more information about your setup and how it's connected. |
