The PQ on that is AMAZING!

I too saw it on the 'Enchanted' disc. I'll assume it's the same one, but it was astounding. I pre-ordered some time ago for my wife, but the picture on it...

Would I ever buy a Disney cheapquel? I'd rather hotglue my eyelids to the toilets in Grand Central Station. John Lasseter has cancelled all remaining Disney cheapquels, this is one he couldn't scuttle because it was so far along. All he could was advocate for better quality.

I can't wait until these Eisner-era brand-wrecking abominations are forgotten and become little more than footnotes in the Disney animation legacy.

Hotglue away, mate.

I simply said that I had ordered it for my wife (because she's a Tink freak) and that the PQ on it was amazing -- and it absolutely is one of the most beautiful pictures I've yet to see on a BD.

I made no assumptions about movie quality, or story, or anything else. I'm assuming your statement was made at me since I was quoted, but I'm not really sure why...

It wasn't that it was too far along, it was that they'd already blown $40 million on it and they have to recoup some of it

My kid is SO excited for this I'll have to pick it up. *groan*

Princesses, and fairies... at least with Peter Pan there were pirates! She also loves Transformers though so there's still hope!

I agree completely. The only cheapquels I have bought are ones that my daughter made me get so she could watch. Others were rentals only.

Naah, just trying to remind people that, CGI eye candy aside, this thing is yet another Disney cheapquel, and the cheapquels have all stunk worse than two week old cat litter. The *real* Tinker Bell in Disney's Peter Pan was a machiavellian jealous force of nature -- if not for her ultimate redemption, she'd be considered one of the villains of the film.

That's a far cry from the sanitized goody two shoes of these "Fairy" brand properties. You can film a steaming pile of cow manure in highdefinition and be amazed at the HD qulaity...at the end of the day, it's still a steaming pile of cow shit. I would no sooner hit my children in the head with a hammer than I would show them a Disney cheapquel film. I'd have too much respect for them, and for the original artists.

It's cool; in all honesty I've never touched one of the cheapies myself, either. I've always adamantly refused to, out of respect for what I consider many of the greatest films of all time.

Tink's unique in that she's always served purposes outside of her character in the Disney brand, whether it be in the fireworks shows at the park, or whatever, so I kind of see it a bit differently than just an attempt to cash in on a movie again and again and again...she's always been a very marketable character, and that's been going on for years, "cheapquel" or not.

Ernest will let you know what he thinks about Disney, Spielberg and other subjects. And that's a good thing.

What exactly is the difference between too far along and already blown $40 million on it?
