PS3/Reciever help - Blu-ray Forum

ok so I have my PS3 hooked up to my hdtv via HDMI, then i have regualr white and red cable from my tv to my non hdmi reciever (i know iknow im working on it) but for some reason i get 2.0 sound, but i have my xbox 360/upconverting hdmi dvd player hooked up the same way and get perfect 5.1 sound, i dont understand whats wrong with the setup, its really bugging me cus im not getting my good sound from my blu rays, any help would be appreciated

completely frustrated!

does your receiver have an optical input?

(red/white is stereo...so if your Xbox is connected the same way, its still stereo, just the receiver is matrixing into 5.1, but its not real 5.1)

Connect your PS3 directly to the Receiver with optical if possible.

hey guys i didnt have an optical input or anything, but i found a real simple solution....i bought the onkyo 606 instead and its awesome
