Thumbs down Quantum Ticket on Blu Bond Box

I just recieved "Dr. No" and "From Russia W/Love" and VERY VERY CAREFULLY attempted to peel off the front sticker to get the "Quantum..." free ticket dealie. With one of the attempts the entire sticker basically disintigrated and I could read nothing! When I tried with the other one I barely was able to get the entire sticker off but most of it was left, in reverse, on the box and while I can read the activation number I CAN'T read the web address!

And in both cases the boxes are now ruined covered with that sticky goo and not suitable to put the Blu's back in. I can't believe they cheaped out on this. When Universal offered a movie coupon for "Mummy 3" they put an insert inside the case. I also wonder how many people will try and remove these stickers in the stores without buying the DVD.

Anyway, that's my rant, and any advice how I can get my tickets???

Thanks

You are not alone. I had the very same experience. Why doesn't anyone think of these things other than us, the consumer?

You pay good money for something you would like to keep nice and collect and you are left with both a useless piece of goo that you can't read to obtain the free ticket and now the case is all sticky and ruined too.

Mine was like that to, I could barely read the text, in the end I went to the site and did trial and error on the first letter because it was pretty much unreadable. Maybe, contact MGM to recieve your code???
Sorry I couldn't have been more help

I plan on purchasing From Russia with Love and Casino Royale. I think now I will leave the sticker on there as much as they get on my nerves. I will just pay the 9 dollars to go see Quantum. Its worth paying for so the 25-30 bucks I spend on the blurays keeps the cases in top condition.

The coupons were on the outside plastic where I got my movies.

*edit* I don't have any more codes to hand out. Sorry.

Thought all of you might wanna know for the sticker problem on the boxes after pealing it off take a piece of tape and keep pressing it on the area repeatedly like continuously padding it. Do this and all of the stickiness and black print will go on to the tape. It worked for all the 3 bond movies i got and it looks like their was never a sticker there!

I take it you mean Scotch tape?

Cuz as of now I'd like to use Duct Tape...on everyone in the meeting that voted for a sticker instead of an insert

That explains why I got my Bonds on eBay for $15 each shipped. The guy sold them without the slip covers, which I throw away anyways.

I'd like to see studios stop using stickers of any kind myself, particularly if the company isn't familiar enough with the application to know what type of adhesive to use. Maybe they did it on purpose to discourage people from claiming their free tickets.

I used cooking oil (canola) on a paper towel to clean the adhesive off the slipcover for Die Another Day. Left it looking like-new in less than a minute. Like others here, reading the claim code was more of a challenge. The web address and instructions, regulations, or whatever else was on the back were almost completely unreadable.

I think the worst one for this was the Poltergeist digibook. That sheet on the back was glued with real glue and not that gummy stuff.

Those stickers were on the outside plastic wrapping of my Bond BD's. That plastic is clear, meaning there's no need to pull the stickers off.

Interesting. I got the steelbooks at Best Buy. I guess they chose to put the stickers on the actual boxes for the regular BD cases and then put the stickers on the outside wrapping for the steelbooks? That is very strange. People definitely got screwed.
