Matrix want work, help? - Blu-ray Forum

I have a Pioneer BDP-51FD and none of the matrix disks will work. So I return it to best buy and get a new set, same thing. It shows the WB logo on CH 1, then goes to CH 2 and does nothing, it puts up a disk on the screen like its loading or whatever, and never does anything. It locks up and I have to hold in the power button on the pioneer to reset it just to get the stupid disk out. Has anyone had any problems with this?

sounds like it may be a firmware update is needed. batman begins did this for me too.

do u by chance get a symbol of a disc and a red "laser" spinning around it like it's loading?? mine did this for a couple of minutes the 1st time i put each movie in.

Yea that sounds like it, I dont have it on in front of me right now, but it was a spinning disk... Did you eventually get it to play or what? Also, my other movies seem to be working fine, just the Matrix disks.

it did that on all 3 discs for almost 3 min. each!!! pissed me off. batman begins did the same thing. eventually they loaded for me though. but it did take a bit.

Hm, the disk eventually went away and it just sits there with a black screen so I turned it off. I dunno I'm on hold with their tech support right now...

Just found out there is a new firmware out, 1.08, so you may want to call and get it if you dont have it. Thats wierd because I just called like a month ago and got a firmware update disk 1.02, I didnt figure another would be out so quick. Oh well, I hope this fixes it.

What sucks is that those titles are warner brother. Abd Dark Knight is warner brothers! OMG, get that fix asap!

unless you don't care for Dark Knight, which I doubt.

Not to worry, I have tons of other WB titles that work fine, it just seems to be only The Matrix. Wierd.

I bought my 51FD about a month ago, and it came with version 1.07. That wouldn't play a couple of the newest Bond films though. So I called tech support, and thes sent me a copy of ver. 1.08b. That's what's on my player now, and I checked, the Bond movies, and the Matrix work fine now, so you should have no problems.
