Default WinDVD 9 too bright

When I play Blu Ray movies through WinDVD 9 its too bright. Anyone got a solution to this? When I try and change the video settings it wont allow me even if I turn hardware accleration off.

Brightness is a screen setting, it has nothing to do with WinDVD9. Lower the brightness on your monitor or laptop screen, whatever the case may be.

I have tried that and I have done it to my GPU also. I have noticed in WinDVD 9 the Blu Ray movies are brighter then DVDs. and PowerDVD 8 is darker and more natural. I just keep switching between them because they both had adnvantages and disadvantages.
